Van Heck is currently working on the first non-subsidized wind farm to be built in the sea. The ship from which work is carries out, is located near Borssele (Zeeland).
On board of the ship four diesel driven pump sets, four hydraulically driven pump sets and four power packs from Van Heck are in operation 24/7. One diesel driven pump set is available as a back-up because without the pumps, activity on the ship comes to a standstill. The first phase of the project started in mid-January and is expected to last until about April. A second phase is planned to follow. Prior to the start, the client held an extensive test phase to prepare the project well.
High pressure
Using high pressure, a trench is sprayed in the seabed and in this trench the cables for the windmills are then laid.
