Flooding caused by heavy rainfall

During heavy rainfall the drainage capacity of the culvert in the center of Horst is too small causing the water to dam up. This causes flooding. To solve this problem, 126 meter of the culvert in the Kabroekse Creek will be opened.

Siphon system with traffic bridge

To enable renovation, the culvert must be drained. Contractor J. van den Brand BV asked Van Heck to supply a siphon system with a traffic bridge to redirect the water that normally flows through the culvert.

The siphon system, with its one meter diameter, has been set up in the center of a residential area and is expected to remain there until the end of 2016.
