Noordwolde, the Netherlands: On the 27th of June, Van Heck celebrated her 50th anniversary. Along with the invitation to this memorable day, guests were kindly asked to donate to a worthwhile cause, the ‘Aqua for All’ foundation.
With these donations Van Heck wanted to show her support for the Aqua for All foundation who are dedicated to increasing easy access to clean water and adequate sanitation, on a sustainable base, to the poorest people in the world. A total of €4000,- was collected.
Edwin Righart, Financial manager at Van Heck, handed over the cheques to the representatives of the two projects chosen.

Project ‘Replacement of hand pumps of existing wells’ in Burkina received €2232,-. They will use the money to replace two hand operated pumps in the village of Sokourani, where a ‘water comity’ has been formed to look after the villager’s interests, the servicing of the pumps and repair (if necessary).

Project ‘Safe water for Wajir’ run by the ‘Welzijn Wajir’ foundation in Kenia received €1768,-. This project teaches students from the local comprehensive school how to build and service ‘Ecosan’ toilets as well as installing hand operated water pumps at a local primary school.
