It’s a lovely spring. The fruit trees are in full blossom. But then the temperature suddenly drops right down to below zero. The tender petals are starting to wilt and the very harvest is under threat. The Rijnland Water Board has a solution: sprinkling the orchards to protect the blossoms against overnight frost.

The Water Board calls Van Heck in for help. A pump is set up in the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal to pump water from the canal to sprinkle the fruit trees with. The water protects the flower buds against the frost. Working together, the Water Board and Van Heck manage to save the harvest.
